01Why Zoho Creator

Why US teams build on Zoho Creator instead of Power Apps or Salesforce

Zoho Creator gives a mid-size US company most of what the big low-code platforms do for a fraction of the per-user price. These six things are why it keeps winning our discovery calls, each one checked against what Zoho actually ships today.

One build. Web, iPhone, iPad and Android.

Every Zoho Creator app gets native iOS and Android apps automatically, from the same build as the web version. Field teams can fill in forms and view reports with no signal, and records sync when the phone reconnects.

Portals for the people outside your company

Customers, vendors and partners log in and see only their own orders, documents and approvals. Portal users are an add-on priced by headcount, so you never buy them full licenses.

Power Apps: outside users need Power Pages

1,000+ prebuilt integrations, plus your own servers

Zoho lists more than 1,000 ready connectors, and you can add custom ones. Databridge lets an app read a MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL database inside your network without opening the firewall to inbound traffic.

Describe the app and let Zia draft it

Zoho Creator’s AI (now also called SI, super intelligence) is CoCreator, powered by Zia. Zia agents turn a plain-English idea into a plan, build modules and workflows for you to review, and write test cases.

Deluge when you need it, three environments to test it

Drag-and-drop covers most of an app. For the rest there’s Deluge, Zoho’s scripting language, which you can also write in VS Code. Changes move from Development to Stage to Production, so nobody edits the live app by accident.

From $8 a user, with branding included on Enterprise

Standard is $8 per user per month billed yearly and Professional is $20. Enterprise, at $25, includes your own domain, rebranded mobile apps under your name and SAML single sign-on.

Salesforce Platform Plus: $100 per user

02From sheet to app

Build a Zoho Creator app in five moves

Every Zoho Creator implementation we run follows roughly the same five moves, whether you start with one spreadsheet or a 40-table Access database. Scroll and watch one sample app, a work-order tracker, put itself together.

  1. 1

    Import the spreadsheet

Upload the Excel or CSV file. Each column becomes a typed field and each row becomes a record, with duplicates flagged before they get in.

  2. 2

    Shape the form

Fix field types, add dropdowns, lookups to other forms and rules like “due date can’t be in the past.” This is where bad data stops getting in.

  3. 3

    Write the workflow in Deluge

On submit, a few lines of Deluge check the quote, route anything over $5,000 to the regional manager and create the purchase order in Zoho Books.

  4. 4

    Build the reports and dashboard

A kanban by status, a calendar of due dates and a chart of spend by site. The Friday report now updates itself.

  5. 5

Publish to phones and a portal

Move the version from Stage to Production. The same app shows up in the Zoho Creator iOS and Android apps, and vendors get a portal for their own paperwork.

03Try the form builder

Put a Zoho Creator form together and ship it to every phone

In Zoho Creator, an app starts with a form. Click a field type or drag it onto the canvas, watch the phone preview follow along, switch on an approval step, then publish. It’s a simplified sample of what our Zoho Creator developers do on day one of a build.

Field types

Equipment requestSample

Click a field type, or drag it here.

    1. Submitted
    2. Over $5,000?
    3. Manager approves on phone
    4. Logged with who and when

The form has three fields: Text, Dropdown and Date. Add more from the left, then publish.

07Zoho Creator pricing in the US

Zoho Creator pricing for US teams, from free to Enterprise

Zoho Creator is priced per user. US list prices run from $8 per user per month (Standard, billed yearly) to $25 (Enterprise), with a free edition for a single app. Creator is also part of Zoho One if you want the whole suite. Portal users for customers and vendors are an add-on.

These are US list prices per user per month, billed yearly. On price alone, Zoho Creator vs Power Apps is close. Salesforce Platform and Quickbase cost more, and Quickbase sets user minimums. OutSystems and Appian don’t publish prices; they quote each deal.

    • Power Apps$6,000
    • Quickbase$10,500
    • Salesforce Platform$30,000

Same team, same year: Zoho Creator costs $4,500 less than Quickbase and $24,000 less than Salesforce Platform Plus. With Power Apps it’s a tie on licenses, so pick on fit.

What about OutSystems and Appian? Both are serious platforms for large enterprise programs, and both are priced by quote after a sales process. If you’re a mid-size US company building internal apps, you’ll usually spend far less, and get started much sooner, on Zoho Creator.

Why we often recommend Zoho Creator

    1. Every app runs on web, iPhone, iPad and Android. You build it once. Nobody has to design a separate mobile version.
    2. The entry price is low enough to start small. Standard is $8 per user, and you can move up to Professional when the second and third apps arrive.
    3. Portals for people outside your company. Customers and vendors log in to see and update their own records, and they don’t need full user licenses.
    4. It already talks to the rest of Zoho. Records can move between your apps, Zoho CRM, Books and Analytics without a third-party connector.
    5. Deluge is easy to hand over. It reads close to plain English, so the person who owns the process can follow what the app does.
    6. When an app outgrows low-code, it can stay where it is. Heavy back-end jobs move to Zoho Catalyst, Zoho’s serverless platform, and Creator keeps the front end.

Where another tool can make sense: if your company lives in Microsoft 365, Teams and SharePoint, Power Apps fits right in and costs about the same per user. If Salesforce already runs your business and you have an admin team, building on Salesforce Platform keeps one data model. Large regulated enterprises running dozens of mission-critical apps sometimes need OutSystems or Appian, and budget for it. If your apps clearly belong on one of those, we’ll point you there before any Deluge gets written.

Low-code list prices shown per user per month in USD, billed yearly. Power Apps volume pricing applies at 2,000 or more seats. Power Apps and Salesforce Platform reprice their per-app and per-user plans often, so we re-check both against your headcount and portal users the week you decide.

    10Connects to what you use

Over 1,000 connectors, and the twelve Zoho Creator integrations we set up most

A custom app shouldn’t become another island. Zoho lists more than 1,000 prebuilt connectors; these twelve are the Zoho Creator integrations US teams ask us for most, from Zoho CRM and QuickBooks to Google Workspace and Stripe. 11What we build

Four shapes a Zoho Creator project usually takes

Each Zoho Creator implementation gets its own scope and a fixed price in a signed BRD. Most fall into one of these four shapes. Already have Creator apps that grew messy? We often start by tidying the scripts and permissions. After launch our Zoho Creator consultants stay on for support, training and the next round of changes.

    First app

    For teams outgrowing a spreadsheet

    • One app around one process
    • Forms, reports and a dashboard
    • Approval steps and email alerts
    • Data import and team training

Fixed price for this one app, in a signed BRD

    Legacy rebuild

For teams leaving Access, FileMaker or an old in-house tool

    • Table-by-table data migration
    • Macros and scripts rewritten in Deluge
    • Roles and permissions per team
    • Your team tests a copy before switch-over

One fixed price for the rebuild, set in a signed BRD

    Portals + integrations

For teams working with customers and vendors

    • Customer or vendor portal
    • Online payments and e-signatures
    • Sync with Zoho CRM, Books or QuickBooks
    • Branded mobile app if you need one

Portal and integrations at a fixed price, signed in a BRD

    Creator + AI / SI

For apps that should do some of the thinking

    • Document reading and data extraction
    • Predictions and anomaly alerts
    • AI agents connected through Zoho MCP
    • Zoho Catalyst for custom back-end code

AI / SI features scoped at a fixed price in a signed BRD

12How a Zoho Creator project starts

How a Zoho Creator build gets scoped, before anyone writes Deluge

These four steps put the app, the price and the schedule in writing before anyone starts building. A single small app can often be scoped from the first call. Bigger ones, like replacing a large Access database, may need a paid scoping and BRD phase, and we’ll quote that up front.

Zoho Creator builds run over screen share with teams across the US, Canada and Latin America, and we sit with your process owners in person when you’re in Southern California. Prefer to write first? Use our contact page.

    13Straight answers

Asked on almost every Zoho Creator discovery call

Plain answers on cost, offline use, portals, migration and timelines. If yours isn’t here, bring it to a free call.

    What is Zoho Creator?

Zoho Creator is Zoho’s low-code platform for building custom business apps. You get forms, reports, dashboards, approval workflows, Deluge scripting, customer and vendor portals, AI / SI features and native apps for iOS and Android, all from one build.

How much does Zoho Creator cost in the USA?

Zoho Creator costs $8 per user per month for Standard, $20 for Professional and $25 for Enterprise, billed yearly in USD before tax. Monthly billing costs $12, $30 and $37. There is a free edition for one app, and customer portal users are an add-on. Building your app with us is its own fixed price, written into a signed BRD before the first form goes live.

Are you a Zoho Creator partner?

Yes. Elite Tech Global is a Zoho Creator Registered Partner and a certified Zoho Advanced Partner, based in Glendale in the Los Angeles area. We have delivered 300+ projects for clients since 2025.

Do Zoho Creator apps work offline on iPhone and Android?

Yes. In the Zoho Creator mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, users can submit forms and view reports without a connection, and records sync when the device is back online. Some features, such as workflows that run before a form is submitted, need a connection, so we design offline forms with that in mind.

Can customers and vendors log in to a Zoho Creator app?

Yes, through a portal. Outside users log in and see only the records you allow, such as their own orders, documents or approvals. Portal users are a Zoho Creator add-on priced by how many you need, so they don’t take up full user licenses.

Does Zoho Creator use AI to build apps?

Yes. Zoho calls it CoCreator, powered by Zia. You describe an app in plain English and Zia agents draft a plan, build modules and workflows for you to review, and write test cases. We use these AI / SI tools to speed up first drafts, then check every rule and permission ourselves.

Can Zoho Creator connect to our on-premise database?

Yes. Databridge, available on paid Zoho Creator plans, runs a small agent inside your network that connects out to Zoho, so your firewall doesn’t need to accept inbound traffic. It supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and SAP HANA, among others.

Zoho Creator vs Power Apps: which is better?

Both cost about $20 per user per month for the plan most teams use. Power Apps fits companies that run on Microsoft 365, Teams and SharePoint. Zoho Creator fits teams that want a lower entry price ($8 Standard), portals for customers and vendors, and apps that share data with Zoho CRM, Books and the rest of Zoho. We’ll tell you honestly which suits you on a discovery call.

Can you migrate our MS Access database or spreadsheets to Zoho Creator?

Yes. Zoho Creator migration from MS Access, Excel, Google Sheets, FileMaker, Power Apps and Quickbase is a large part of our work. We move the data, rewrite macros and formulas as Deluge workflows, rebuild the reports people use, and let your team test a copy before the switch.

How long does it take to build a Zoho Creator app?

It depends on how many apps, users, integrations and how much data migration you need. The signed BRD lists every app, form, workflow, portal and data import with its own date, so you see when each piece reaches your users before we start building.

What does Zoho Creator integrate with?

Zoho lists more than 1,000 prebuilt integrations for Zoho Creator, and it connects natively with Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Zoho Analytics and other Zoho apps. We also set up Zoho Creator integration with QuickBooks, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Stripe, PayPal, AI models and on-premise databases, plus any system with an API, using Deluge, Zoho Flow or Zoho Catalyst.

Is Zoho Creator good for a small business?

Yes. Zoho Creator for small business can start on the free edition for one app or on Standard at $8 per user per month billed yearly. A small team can replace a messy spreadsheet with a proper app and add more apps on Professional later.

When do we need Zoho Catalyst as well as Zoho Creator?

Most business apps never need it. Zoho Catalyst helps when you need custom code, heavy background jobs or a public API at scale. In that case Creator keeps the forms and screens and Catalyst runs the back-end work.

Do you provide Zoho Creator support and training after launch?

Yes. After launch our Zoho Creator consultants provide ongoing support, fixes, new features and Zoho Creator training for your admins and users, online or on-site in Southern California.

What is Deluge in Zoho Creator?

Deluge is Zoho’s scripting language for the logic that forms and drag-and-drop workflows can’t handle on their own. It reads close to plain English, so the person who owns the process can follow what the app does, and you can also write it in VS Code. We use it to replace Access macros and spreadsheet formulas, connect systems through their APIs and call AI / SI models to summarize, classify or draft.

    What is SI?

SI stands for super intelligence. In September 2026 a US executive order asked federal agencies to use “super intelligence” or “SI” in place of “artificial intelligence” in official communications. Most businesses still say AI, so we use both terms.
