Stripe integration in the USA · Los Angeles, CA
A customer pays. Stripe takes the card. Zoho Books and Zoho CRM know about it a second later.
We’re a Los Angeles development team that builds Stripe payments for US companies and wires them into Zoho. Stripe Checkout and Payment Links, subscriptions, ACH for large invoices, webhooks that post every payment, fee and payout to Zoho Books, and paid status on the deal in Zoho CRM. You keep your own Stripe account and pay Stripe’s fees directly.

01Why Stripe, set up by us
Stripe is very good at taking money. It knows nothing about your invoices, deals or chart of accounts. That gap is where our Stripe integration work lives: every payment, refund, fee and payout lands in the right Zoho record, so sales sees who paid and your bookkeeper reconciles payouts without a spreadsheet. Here are the six things US owners and finance leads ask us about most.
A card or ACH payment against a Zoho Books invoice is recorded on that invoice, with Stripe’s fee split out to its own expense account. No one re-keys a receipt.
payment_intent.succeeded → payment on INV-2087Stripe pays out in batches, net of fees, so a $2,273.67 deposit rarely matches any single invoice. We run Stripe through a clearing account in Zoho Books, so each payout matches the bank line exactly.
payout.paid → transfer from Stripe clearingOn a $10,000 invoice, a US card costs $290.30 in Stripe fees. ACH Direct Debit is 0.8% with a $5.00 cap, so the same invoice costs $5. We put both options on the pay page and let the customer pick.
ACH Direct Debit: 0.8%, capped at $5Stripe may send the same event twice, or out of order, and it keeps retrying a failed delivery for up to three days in live mode. Our handlers check the signature, log every event ID, and post each one once.
evt_…9Qd seen before → skipStripe Checkout, Payment Links and the Payment Element collect card details on Stripe’s side, so card numbers never pass through your website or your Zoho account. That keeps your PCI paperwork small.
Checkout and Payment Links: no extra feeStripe Billing charges 0.7% of billing volume on pay-as-you-go. Zoho Billing is a flat monthly plan that can still collect through Stripe. We run the numbers on your volume and tell you which side should own the subscription.
Stripe Billing: 0.7% of billing volume02From checkout to closed books
Here is one Stripe card payment followed all the way into Zoho Books, line by line, the way your clearing account would record it. The numbers use Stripe’s US standard card fee of 2.9% + 30¢. Watch the balance column: it starts at zero and has to end at zero.
They open the invoice email from Zoho Books, click Pay, and land on a Stripe-hosted page. Card goes through. Stripe fires payment_intent.succeeded.
2.9% of $1,250 is $36.25, plus 30¢. We post the $36.55 to a merchant fees account, so your P&L shows what card payments really cost.
Our webhook handler checks the signature, records the payment on INV-2087 in Zoho Books and flips the deal to paid in Zoho CRM. The account owner gets a notification. Balance unchanged: this step only moves information.
$480.00 and $612.50 come in by card, each with its own fee ($14.22 and $18.06). Same steps, same posting, nobody touches them.
On Stripe’s standard US schedule, card funds usually reach your bank about two business days later, in one batch. Stripe fires payout.paid, and we post a transfer from the clearing account to your checking account.
The $2,273.67 deposit shows up in the Zoho Books bank feed and matches the transfer we already posted. Three invoices paid, $68.83 in fees booked, clearing account at zero. Done.

Type an amount, pick how the customer pays, and add any Stripe products you’d use. The calculator applies Stripe’s US standard pricing and shows the fee, what reaches your bank, and roughly when. It’s sample math for planning; custom pricing, refunds and disputes are left out.
Stripe’s US standard pay-as-you-go fees: 2.9% + 30¢ per domestic card, +0.5% manually entered, +1.5% international, +1% currency conversion, Terminal 2.7% + 5¢, ACH Direct Debit 0.8% capped at $5, Billing 0.7%, Invoicing Starter 0.4% per paid invoice, Tax Basic 0.5% per no-code transaction where you’re registered, Instant Payouts 1.5% (min 50¢). Disputes cost $15 each. Timing is typical, and new Stripe accounts usually wait longer for their first payout.
04Stripe development services
Most Stripe projects we take on are a mix of these six. Some clients come in with Stripe already live and need it connected to Zoho; others are choosing a payment processor for the first time. Either way, we work in your Stripe account, test everything in Stripe’s test mode first, and hand you the keys.

us_bank_accountACH Direct Debit with instant bank verification through Financial Connections, mandates captured on the pay page, and clear handling of the days an ACH payment takes to settle or fail.
webhook_endpointSigned, logged, retry-safe webhook handlers, hosted on Zoho Catalyst or AWS. Custom checkout flows with the Payment Element when the hosted page isn’t enough.
balance_transactionPayments, refunds, fees, disputes and payouts posted to Zoho Books through a Stripe clearing account. Month-end becomes matching one payout to one bank line.
accountMarketplaces and platforms that pay out to sellers or providers: onboarding, verification, split payments and payouts to connected accounts, with Stripe’s tax forms for your users.
Fraud is covered too. Radar Lite fraud screening comes with Stripe Payments on standard pricing and uses AI (now also called SI, super intelligence) trained across the Stripe network. We add rules for your business on top, like blocking prepaid cards on high-value orders or asking for 3D Secure above a set amount.
05Stripe integration with Zoho
This is the part most Stripe developers skip and the part we specialize in. Pick a Zoho app to see where each Stripe object lands. Zoho Books, Zoho Billing and Zoho Commerce can take Stripe payments through their own built-in connections; we add webhooks, Zoho Flow or custom code where the built-in connection stops.

06Stripe pricing in the US
Stripe’s US standard pricing has no setup fee and no monthly fee. You pay per successful payment: 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card online, 0.8% capped at $5 for ACH Direct Debit, and 2.7% + 5¢ in person. Extra products like Billing, Invoicing and Tax add their own percentage only when you use them. Businesses with large volume can ask Stripe for custom pricing.
| Stripe product | US standard fee | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| 2.9% + 30¢ | Each successful domestic card payment, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link | |
| Card surcharges | +0.5% / +1.5% / +1% | Manually entered cards / international cards / currency conversion |
| ACH Direct Debit | 0.8%, $5 cap | Bank debits from US accounts. The best deal on large invoices |
| Terminal (in person) | 2.7% + 5¢ | Domestic cards on a Stripe reader, +1.5% for international cards |
| Billing | 0.7% | Of billing volume on pay-as-you-go, for subscriptions and usage billing |
| Invoicing | 0.4% | Per paid invoice sent from Stripe (Starter) |
| Tax Basic | 0.5% | Per no-code transaction where you’re registered; $0.50 per API transaction |
| Instant Payouts | 1.5%, min 50¢ | Only if you want funds in minutes instead of the standard schedule |
| Disputes | $15 | Per dispute received, plus $15 to counter one manually (returned if you win) |
Stripe’s published US standard fees in USD. Stripe adjusts surcharges and add-on rates from time to time, so we check the current rates against your payment mix before you commit.
07Stripe vs Square, PayPal and Authorize.Net
We aren’t paid by any processor, so here’s the plain version. Stripe wins when you sell online, bill subscriptions, take ACH or need a custom flow. Square is strong at the counter. PayPal brings its own wallet and Venmo. Many US businesses end up with two of them, and Zoho Books can take payments through more than one.
| Processor | Best fit | Subscriptions | Developer flexibility | Works with Zoho |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Online sales, SaaS, B2B invoices, platforms | Stripe Billing, or Zoho Billing on top | Full APIs, webhooks, test mode | Zoho Books, Billing, Commerce, plus webhooks | |
| Square | Retail counters and restaurants | Basic recurring | Good APIs, POS-first | Usually through Zoho Flow or custom code |
| Buyers who want PayPal or Venmo | PayPal subscriptions | REST APIs | Zoho Books and Zoho Billing gateway | |
| Authorize.Net | Businesses tied to a bank merchant account | Recurring billing add-on | Older APIs | Zoho Books and Zoho Billing gateway |
Where another processor can make sense: a restaurant or shop that mostly takes cards at a counter often does better on Square’s hardware and POS. If a big share of your buyers insist on PayPal or Venmo, add PayPal next to Stripe. And if your bank bundles an Authorize.Net merchant account with negotiated rates, keeping it can be cheaper. We’ll look at your actual payment mix and tell you on the first call.
08Moving payments
Switching processors scares people because of saved cards and live subscriptions. Stripe can import saved card data from many previous processors through its own migration process, so recurring customers keep paying without noticing. We plan the cutover, rebuild the payment links, and point Zoho at the new gateway the same day.
Square · PayPal · Authorize.Net→Stripe
Saved cards requested from the old processor, customer IDs mapped, Zoho Books and Zoho Billing switched to Stripe as the gateway.
Stripe Billing→Zoho Billing
Keep Stripe for payments and move plans and subscribers into Zoho Billing, so invoices, dunning and revenue reports sit inside Zoho. See the Zoho Billing page.
QuickBooks + Stripe→Zoho Books + Stripe
Bringing the accounting side over too? Our Zoho migration team moves the ledger while we re-point Stripe at Zoho Books.
09What a Stripe project looks like
A Stripe job can be a pay button on Zoho Books invoices or a full platform on Connect. These four shapes cover nearly everything we’re asked for. Each gets its own written scope, its own test plan in Stripe’s test mode, and a fixed price before we start.

10Stripe questions
Straight answers on Stripe fees in the US, payouts, ACH, webhooks and how Stripe talks to Zoho Books and Zoho CRM. Got a payment setup that doesn’t fit any of these? Walk us through it on a first call, which costs nothing.
We build Stripe Checkout and Payment Links, subscriptions in Stripe Billing or Zoho Billing, ACH Direct Debit, webhook handlers, custom checkouts with the Payment Element, Stripe Connect for platforms, and the sync that posts Stripe payments, fees and payouts into Zoho Books and Zoho CRM. We are based in Glendale, in the Los Angeles area, and work remotely with US companies.
We don't claim a Stripe partner badge. We're an independent development team that builds on Stripe's public APIs and on Zoho, where we are a certified Zoho Advanced Partner. You keep your own Stripe account, and Stripe bills its fees to you directly.
Stripe's US standard pricing has no setup or monthly fee. Domestic cards online cost 2.9% + 30¢ per successful payment, with +0.5% for manually entered cards, +1.5% for international cards and +1% when currency conversion is needed. In-person Terminal payments are 2.7% + 5¢, ACH Direct Debit is 0.8% capped at $5, and each dispute costs $15. Billing adds 0.7% of billing volume on pay-as-you-go. Our own work is a fixed price agreed in a signed BRD.
Zoho Books can connect Stripe as a payment gateway so customers pay invoices by card or ACH and the payment is recorded on the invoice. For everything the built-in connection doesn't cover, like separate fee postings, refunds, disputes and payouts, we add a webhook handler and a Stripe clearing account so every payout matches the bank feed.
Yes. We use Stripe webhooks to update Zoho CRM when a checkout completes, a payment fails, a subscription changes or a dispute opens. The Stripe customer ID is stored on the contact, so sales sees payment status without logging into Stripe.
It depends on your volume and where you want the subscription data. Stripe Billing costs 0.7% of billing volume on pay-as-you-go, so the fee grows with revenue. Zoho Billing is a flat monthly plan and can still collect payments through Stripe. We compare both on your real numbers before recommending one.
On Stripe's standard US schedule, card payments usually arrive in your bank about two business days after the charge. ACH Direct Debit payments take up to four business days to settle. Instant Payouts can send funds in minutes for 1.5% of the amount, with a 50¢ minimum. New Stripe accounts usually wait longer for their first payout.
Yes, at any amount, and the gap grows with the invoice. ACH Direct Debit costs 0.8% and stops at $5 once a payment passes $625, while a US card costs 2.9% + 30¢. On a $10,000 invoice that is $5 by ACH against $290.30 by card. The trade-off is that ACH takes a few business days to settle and can fail after the customer pays.
Every handler verifies Stripe's signature, logs each event ID so a repeated event is skipped, and does not rely on events arriving in order. Stripe retries failed deliveries for up to three days in live mode, and we watch the delivery log after go-live so nothing is missed.
Yes. Stripe can import saved card data from many previous processors through its own migration process, so recurring customers don't re-enter cards. We inventory your saved cards, subscriptions and payment links, plan the cutover, and switch Zoho Books or Zoho Billing to Stripe as the gateway.
Stripe Tax can. Tax Basic costs 0.5% per no-code transaction where you're registered, or $0.50 per API transaction. If Zoho Books already calculates sales tax on your invoices and Stripe only processes the payment, you usually don't need Stripe Tax at all.
Yes. We build Connect platforms with seller onboarding, verification, split payments and payouts to connected accounts. Connect is included when Stripe sets and collects the fees from your users; platforms that set their own payments pricing pay a starting fee of 0.25%.
It depends on how many payment methods, Stripe products and Zoho apps are involved. The signed BRD includes a delivery schedule that dates the build, the test-mode run and the switch to live keys, so you know your go-live date before work starts.
SI stands for super intelligence. In September 2026 a US executive order asked federal agencies to use “super intelligence” or “SI” in place of “artificial intelligence” in official communications. Most businesses still say AI, so we use both terms.
11How a Stripe project starts
We don’t touch your Stripe account until these four steps are done and everyone agrees on paper. Connecting Stripe to Zoho Books is often scoped on the first call. Larger builds, like a Connect platform or a processor migration with thousands of saved cards, may need a paid scoping and BRD phase, and we’ll quote that up front.
Stripe builds run remotely for companies across the US, Canada and Latin America; finance teams in Southern California can have us in the room for the go-live day.
