01Six reasons, checked against Zoho’s own plan list

Why US marketers move to Zoho Campaigns from Mailchimp

Zoho Campaigns does what Mailchimp and Constant Contact do (templates, segments, automation, reports) for a smaller monthly bill, and it talks to Zoho CRM without a connector. For small and mid-size US teams, these six things usually decide it.

  1. You pay for contacts, and paid plans send without a cap

Standard and Professional are priced by the size of your list. Send a weekly newsletter, a promo and a reminder in the same week, and the bill stays the same.

Mailchimp: monthly sends capped per plan

  2. A free plan you can actually run a small list on

Forever Free covers up to 2,000 contacts and 6,000 emails a month, with the drag-and-drop editor, templates and basic reports. Plenty for a local business starting a monthly newsletter.

    Mailchimp Free: 250 contacts

  3. A/B tests that finish the job on their own

From Standard up, test two subject lines, sender names or designs on part of your list. Zoho Campaigns picks the winner by open rate or click rate after the time you set, then sends it to everyone else.

  4. Sales sees every open and click

Leads and contacts from Zoho CRM sync into your mailing lists, and opens, clicks and unsubscribes sync back to the CRM record. A rep can call the person who clicked “pricing” this morning.

  5. Drip journeys you draw instead of code

The workflow builder strings together triggers, waits and conditions. Professional adds abandoned cart and purchase follow-ups, contact scoring and send-time scheduling across time zones.

  6. Zia drafts the words, you keep the final say

Zia writes subject lines, preheaders, email copy and plain-text versions from your campaign’s context. Professional can also time each send to when a contact usually opens. SMS and WhatsApp campaigns are available as add-ons.

02One sign-up, followed for twelve days

Watch a Zoho Campaigns drip journey branch on its own

A drip journey is a set of emails that reacts to what each person does. Here is one we’d build for a home-services company in Arizona. Someone downloads a seasonal checklist, and from there Zoho Campaigns decides what they get next based on opens and clicks. Scroll, and the path lights up.

Sample journey

  1. Trigger · Day 0Downloads the “Summer AC checklist”

A Zoho Forms sign-up on the website adds Dana from Mesa to the “Homeowners” list.

  2. Email 1 · Day 0Here’s your checklist

Sent within minutes, with the PDF and one line about tune-ups.

  3. Wait2 days
  4. ConditionOpened email 1?
  1. No
  2. Email 1b · Day 3Same checklist, new subject line

“Did this get buried? Your checklist is inside.”

  3. Condition · Day 6Still no open?
  4. ExitMoves to the monthly newsletter

No more drip emails. Fewer complaints, a cleaner list.

  1. Yes
  2. Email 2 · Day 4What a tune-up actually checks

Short, useful, with a “See pricing” button.

  3. Condition · Day 6Clicked “See pricing”?
  4. Yes → actionHot lead in Zoho CRM

Contact score goes up, the lead lands in Zoho CRM and a rep gets a call task for Day 7.

  5. No → Email 3 · Day 9A neighbor’s story

How a Tucson family avoided a July breakdown. Then a final reminder on Day 12.

Contact scoring and send-time optimization need the Professional plan. Basic workflows like this one start in Standard.

03Guess first, then see the numbers

Which subject line wins? Run a sample Zoho Campaigns A/B test

This is how a Zoho Campaigns A/B test works. Pick how the winner is judged and how much of the list gets the test, then guess which version wins. Zoho Campaigns sends A and B to the test group, waits, and mails the winner to everyone else. Three rounds, sample results.

Results here are made up for the demo. Real ones depend on your list, your offer and your sender name. In your Zoho Campaigns account the test runs for the hours or days you choose, and you can pick the winner yourself if you’d rather look first.

04Zoho Campaigns pricing in the US

What does Zoho Campaigns cost for your list size?

Zoho Campaigns pricing depends on how many contacts you have, and paid plans send unlimited emails. Forever Free covers up to 2,000 contacts. Standard starts at $4 a month for 500 contacts ($3 billed yearly) and Professional at $6 ($4.50 billed yearly). Yearly billing takes 25% off. Move the slider to your list size.

05Zoho Campaigns vs Mailchimp and the rest

Zoho Campaigns vs Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Klaviyo and HubSpot

At the same list size, Zoho Campaigns costs a fraction of the big US email tools, and its paid plans don’t cap your sends. Here’s what a 500-contact list costs each month on monthly billing. HubSpot is priced per seat, so its row reads differently.

Email toolFree planEntry planPlan with more automationWhat changes the bill
Zoho CampaignsFreeUp to 2,000 contacts$4Standard ($3 yearly)$6Professional ($4.50 yearly)List size only. Paid plans send unlimited emails
MailchimpFreeUp to 250 contacts$13Essentials$20StandardMonthly sends capped at a multiple of your contacts. Premium starts at $350 for 10,000 contacts
Constant ContactNoneTrial only$12Lite$35StandardPremium is $80 at 500 contacts. Each plan has a monthly send limit
KlaviyoFreeUp to 250 profiles$20Email$20Same plan, flows includedActive profiles. SMS costs extra
HubSpot Marketing HubFreeFree tools$20Starter, per seat$800Professional, billed yearlySeats and marketing contacts. Professional adds a $3,000 one-time onboarding fee
One year, 500 contactson a plan with A/B testing and automation, billed monthly: monthly price × 12
  • Zoho Campaigns$48
  • Mailchimp$240
  • Klaviyo$240
  • Constant Contact$420

Zoho Campaigns Standard comes to $48 a year, or $36 if you pay yearly. Mailchimp Standard for the same list is $240.

Why HubSpot isn’t in the chart: it charges per seat plus marketing contacts, so a 500-contact comparison doesn’t say much. Most teams that look at Professional are budgeting $800 a month and up.

Why we keep recommending it

  1. Sending more doesn’t cost more. A busy promo month and a quiet one are billed the same on paid plans.
  2. The free plan holds 2,000 contacts, eight times what Mailchimp’s free plan allows.
  3. Email results land in your CRM. With Zoho CRM, reps see who opened and clicked on the lead record.
  4. A/B testing starts on Standard, the cheaper paid plan.
  5. Sign-up forms built in Zoho Forms and chats from Zoho SalesIQ can feed the same lists.

Where another tool can make sense: a Shopify brand that lives on product-level flows and SMS may get more out of Klaviyo’s e-commerce depth. If sales and marketing already run on HubSpot and the budget is there, Marketing Hub keeps it in one place. And if your team loves Mailchimp’s template library and sends once a month to a small list, switching may not be worth the effort. Bring your list size and current bill to the first call and we’ll say which way we’d go.

List prices in USD per month at 500 contacts, billed monthly, unless noted. Vendors change prices, so we confirm current numbers for your list size before you buy.

06What moves, and where it lands

Moving from Mailchimp or Klaviyo to Zoho Campaigns, piece by piece

A Zoho Campaigns migration is mostly about keeping your list healthy. We bring over contacts with their consent status, tags and custom fields, carry every unsubscribe and bounce so nobody gets an email they opted out of, rebuild your best templates and recreate the automations that matter. Pick your current tool to see where each piece goes.

07Where your contacts come from

Zoho Campaigns integration with your CRM, forms and store

Email works best when the list fills itself. These are the Zoho Campaigns integrations we set up most for US teams, so new sign-ups, chats, buyers and social followers end up on the right list with the right tags. Hover a tile to see which sign-ups, tags or buyer records land on which list. Want posts to match your emails? Zoho Social sits right next to it.

Questions marketers ask before buying Zoho Campaigns

Zoho Campaigns pricing, Mailchimp and Klaviyo comparisons, CRM sync, migration and AI / SI, answered briefly. Still wondering about your own list or sending setup? Send us a sample campaign and we’ll go through it on the first call, at no cost.

What is Zoho Campaigns?

Zoho Campaigns is Zoho’s email marketing software. It covers a drag-and-drop email editor, templates, mailing lists and segments, sign-up forms, A/B testing, automated workflows, reports and Zia AI writing help, with SMS and WhatsApp campaigns available as add-ons. It syncs with Zoho CRM and the rest of Zoho.

How much does Zoho Campaigns cost in the USA?

Zoho Campaigns is priced by list size. Forever Free covers up to 2,000 contacts and 6,000 emails a month. Standard starts at $4 a month for 500 contacts, or $3 a month billed yearly. Professional starts at $6, or $4.50 billed yearly. At 10,000 contacts, Standard is $49 a month ($36.75 billed yearly) and Professional is $81 ($60.75). All of these are USD before tax and grow with your contact count. Setting up Zoho Campaigns with us is its own fixed price, written into a signed BRD before we import a single contact.

Does Zoho Campaigns limit how many emails I can send?

Not on paid plans. Standard and Professional include unlimited emails, and you pay based on how many contacts you have. The free plan allows 6,000 emails a month to up to 2,000 contacts.

Zoho Campaigns vs Mailchimp: which is better for a small US business?

For most small US businesses, Zoho Campaigns does the same core job for less. At 500 contacts, Zoho Campaigns Standard is $4 a month and Mailchimp Standard is $20, and Zoho’s paid plans don’t cap sends. Its free plan also holds 2,000 contacts against Mailchimp’s 250. Mailchimp can still suit teams that rely on its template library and already know it well.

Zoho Campaigns vs Klaviyo: which suits an online store?

Klaviyo is built around e-commerce and goes deep on Shopify product data and SMS. Zoho Campaigns Professional covers abandoned cart and purchase follow-up workflows and dynamic content at a lower price, and it connects to Zoho CRM. For a store that also runs sales or B2B accounts in Zoho, Zoho Campaigns is usually the better fit.

How does A/B testing work in Zoho Campaigns?

On Standard and Professional, you create two versions of an email with a different subject line, sender name or content. Zoho Campaigns sends them to a test group from your list, waits for the time you set, then picks the winner by open rate or click rate and sends it to everyone else. You can also choose the winner yourself.

Does Zoho Campaigns sync with Zoho CRM?

Yes, natively. Leads and contacts from Zoho CRM sync into Zoho Campaigns mailing lists, and email activity such as opens, clicks and unsubscribes syncs back to the CRM records. We set up which records sync, to which lists, and how often.

Can you migrate us from Mailchimp, Constant Contact or Klaviyo?

Yes. Our Zoho Campaigns migration moves contacts with their consent status, tags and custom fields, keeps every unsubscribe and bounce suppressed, rebuilds your key templates and sign-up forms, and recreates the automations that matter as workflows. We authenticate your sending domain and warm up with your most engaged contacts first.

Does Zoho Campaigns help with CAN-SPAM-friendly email habits?

It gives you the tools for good habits: an unsubscribe link in your emails, your business address in the footer, sign-up forms and list management. We set these up as defaults during setup. For legal questions about your own email program, please check with your attorney.

Is Zoho Campaigns good for a small business?

Yes. Zoho Campaigns for small business can start on the free plan with up to 2,000 contacts, then move to Standard for A/B testing and workflows at a few dollars a month. As the list grows, the price grows with it, and sends stay unlimited.

How long does a Zoho Campaigns setup take?

It depends on your list size, migration, templates, workflows and integrations. The signed BRD lists each list import, template, workflow and integration with a date next to it, so you know when your first campaign goes out before we start.

Do you provide Zoho Campaigns support and training after go-live?

Yes. After launch our Zoho Campaigns consultants help with new workflows, templates, list cleanup and reporting, and train new team members online or on-site in Southern California.

Can Zoho Campaigns send SMS or WhatsApp messages?

Yes, as add-ons. Email is the core of Zoho Campaigns, and SMS and WhatsApp campaigns are available as paid add-ons on top of your plan. If you want texts or WhatsApp messages alongside your emails, we add them to the scope in your BRD.

What is SI?

SI stands for super intelligence. In September 2026 a US executive order asked federal agencies to use “super intelligence” or “SI” in place of “artificial intelligence” in official communications. Most businesses still say AI, so we use both terms.

10How a Zoho Campaigns project starts

Before your first send, we agree the plan in writing

Every Zoho Campaigns setup we do starts with the same four steps, and they end with your scope and price on paper. A simple newsletter setup is often scoped on the first call. Bigger ones, like a multi-list Mailchimp migration with CRM sync, may need a paid scoping and BRD phase, and we’ll quote that up front.

Zoho Campaigns work runs on screen share for teams across the US, Canada and Latin America, and we can sit with your marketers in person in Southern California. Prefer to write first? Use our contact page.

  1. Discovery callYour list size, how people join it, what you send today and what you want sales to see
  2. List and journey mapWhere contacts come from, which emails go out when, and which ones should react to clicks
